The Opportunity

MEGT is on the hunt for an exceptional Human Resources Specialist to join our united, savvy and trailblazing People and Culture team.

This parental leave cover role offers a diverse and rewarding opportunity to support the Manager of Human Resources Services and other leaders within the People and Culture function. You will be responsible for a wide range of Human Resources tasks, projects, and administrative processes, providing essential advice and support to the business.

A key part of the role is balancing your support for leaders and employees with the efficient completion of operational tasks. With a solid understanding of People and Culture practices, you will play a crucial part in improving HR processes and outcomes across the organisation.

Based from Brisbane, Logan or Southport, you will enjoy working independently in a semi-autonomous environment, taking ownership of various HR initiatives. Your efforts will directly contribute to the achievement of MEGT's divisional goals, including enhancing attraction, engagement, retention, performance, and development of staff.

Please note this is a maximum term 12-month parental leave cover.

 

About you

As a positive, empathetic, and driven Human Resources Specialist, you’ll be excited to take on your next challenge and make a lasting impact. With a deep passion for people, you’ll be dedicated to fostering an environment where everyone feels included, valued, and supported. To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, HR, or related field (preferred).
  • 3-5 years of experience in HR or a similar role.
  • Familiarity with Aurion or other HRIS systems is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of the Fair Work Act and Australian employment legislation.
  • Ensure a comprehensive compliant process when investigating employee relation matters and act in line with management advice to resolve issues
  • Experience in improving payroll and HR processes and delivering high-quality customer service.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to work autonomously, meet deadlines, and solve problems effectively.
  • Experience in handling sensitive information confidentially and advocating for compliance with policies and procedures.
