The Opportunity 

Based from our Milton office, this is your opportunity to join our Apprentice Connect Provider division and work with Australia’s largest single provider. 

As a Mentor in the Apprentice Connect Provider (ACP) division of MEGT, you will provide exceptional mentoring, practical and pastoral care to apprentices and trainees who may have challenging circumstances to overcome with the aim of improving completion rates.  You will also work with women in non-traditional trades to mentor them into employment. 

You will also be required to build strong relationships with employers, TAFE, Department of Education Skills and Employment as well as various other stakeholders to deliver an exceptional mentoring service.  

This role is highly rewarding and involves a holistic, empathetic, and proactive approach as you guide your clients to persevere through obstacles and help them achieve their career goals.  

Duties and responsibilities include: 

  • Manage a caseload of Australian Apprentices within a local region 

  • Meet with employers, Australian Apprentices and parent/guardian (if applicable)  

  • Undertake risk assessments, identify barriers, and create case management plans to address barriers 

  • Identify and utilise local/state/national organisations to assist with addressing barriers to completion 

  • Understand and ensure compliance with policies and procedures applicable to the program 

  • Maintain accurate and detailed In-training information and file notes 

  • Complete status reports and reports on statistics 

  • Maintain strong internal and external relationships 

  • Provide coaching and training

About you 

You will have experience in a similar mentoring or guidance role with significant call volumes and administration experience. You will have demonstrated the ability to engage, respect and support those of diverse demographics and social backgrounds with a strong focus on youth including: 

  • Previous experience fostering positive relationships with various external stakeholders including apprentices, employers, and parents/guardians 

  • Exceptional ability to identify appropriate solutions and provide proactive assistance including referral to specialist organisations e.g. housing support etc 

  • Excellent communication and administration skills including strong CRM and data entry experience 

  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to interpret and assess information 

  • Proven experience in meeting set targets, KPIs and customer service standards 

  • Experience &/or qualifications in youth/social work, or progress towards these qualifications, e.g. Certificate IV in Community Services (Youth Work), would be highly regarded 

  • Current driver's license
