The Opportunity  

Based in Werribee, this is your chance to join MEGT’s Employment Services Division and play a pivotal frontline role in changing lives through the Workforce Australia contract.  

We are seeking a dedicated and results-driven Employment Consultant to engage job seekers facing barriers to sustainable employment, increase their work readiness, and secure lasting training or job outcomes. You’ll deliver tailored vocational and non-vocational interventions, build strong employer relationships, and contribute to MEGT’s reputation as a trusted provider to job seekers, industry, and government.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Build strong relationships with a caseload of job seekers through regular interactions.  
  • Create, update and regularly review individual Job Plans.  
  • Identify job seekers' barriers, goals, and career preferences using assessment tools. 
  • Deliver high-impact interventions: 1:1 coaching, group workshops, digital literacy programs, work experience, and referrals to specialist providers (psychological, medical, housing, drug & alcohol, etc.) 
  • Proactively source vacancies through cold-calling, canvassing, and reverse marketing. 
  • Collaborate with employers to support job seekers during the hiring and onboarding process. 
  • Maintain accurate, compliant records and meet all contractual administration timeframes. 

  

About you 

You will be an ambitious, adaptable, and personable self-starter with a passion for customer service and drive to have a positive impact within the community including:   

  • Strong customer service skills, ideally face-to-face, with a focus on outcomes 
  • Excellent communication, professionalism, and maturity  
  • Proven ability to meet KPIs and work autonomously  
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and embracing change  
  • Collaborative mindset and experience engaging with diverse stakeholders  
  • Understanding of job seeker challenges (Employment Services or Case Management experience highly regarded)  
  • High digital literacy and strong problem-solving skills  
  • A current driver’s license and the ability to travel
