The Opportunity 

This is your opportunity to work for MEGT’s Employment Services Division and be part of the new, exciting and rewarding Workforce Australia contract.   

The Placement Officer is a dynamic and relationship focused role, working between employers and work ready job seekers to support the job appointment of individuals into suitable employment, work trials or work experience opportunities. 

Reporting into the Account Manager, the purpose of this role is also to partner with the wider Workforce Australia team to provide exceptional support and administration assistance to employers and job seekers and any necessary contractual or Government requirements during the onboarding process. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Promptly review job seeker referrals from Employment Consultants, considering known and potential employment opportunities.
• Build rapport and strong relationships with job seekers to promote and recommend suitable employment opportunities aligned with their Job Plans, goals, and preferences.
• Refer work-ready job seekers to employers for employment, work trials, or work experience.
• Source employment opportunities through sales and marketing activities, cold calling, canvassing local employers, generating and following up leads, and networking.

About you 

You will be a driven, motivated and passionate professional with a strong background in customer service, recruitment, administration and support roles including: 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills via both phone and email 
• Ability to build relationships with various internal and external stakeholders including taking ownership of customer issues to find solutions 
• Accurate and efficient data entry skills with a high attention to detail 
• High computer literacy across various software’s and systems 
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and consultatively with numerous customers, at various levels of responsibility within an organisation 
• Proven experience in meeting set KPIs and customer service standards 
• Strong initiative and ability to self manage workloads 
• Knowledge of Employment Services (highly desirable) 
• Current drivers licence
