The Opportunity

Operating from our Adelaide office, you will be responsible for the mentoring, support and guidance of MEGT trainees and apprentices, along with quality account management of our host clients. Reporting to the State Service Delivery Manager, this role is pivotal in providing support to apprentices, trainees and cadets through their Apprenticeship / Traineeship with a particular focus on both their physical and psychological safety while also working with employers on continuous improvement initiatives. you will be responsible for.

You will also be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Conducting mentoring site visits (mentoring, support and guidance) to resolve personal and workplace issues impacting Apprentices/Trainees throughout their engagement with a focus on maintaining ongoing employment and completion of their qualification.
  • Providing solutions and pathways to participants and employers to remove barriers and facilitate successful completion of training and employment.
  • Liaising with Registered Training Organisations and host employers to coordinate and monitor appropriate on and off the job training relevant to the individual and employment and training plan requirements.
  • Facilitating the rotations of trainees to alternative host employers where required.
  • Ensuring appropriate administration support is provided to Apprentices/Trainees.
  • Ensuring the safety of apprentices, trainees, and employers throughout their journey from induction to completion - including carrying out appropriate workplace health and safety. (WHS) site inspections and assisting with injury management or Return to Work Plans when required.
  • Effective account management, issue resolution and growth of assigned clients.
  • Generating high-quality business opportunities to support future growth targets, in alignment with key performance expectations.
  • Partnering with businesses and industries and finding solutions to their succession plans.

About you 

You will be a proactive, empathetic, and accountable self-starter with a passion for creating life changing learning and employment outcomes for Apprentices/Trainees and host clients: 

  • Familiarity with the VET sector (highly desirable).
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully mentoring Australian Apprentices & Trainees (desirable).
  • Ability to provide advice and strategies to participants and host employers on matters such as absences and performance issues.
  • Experience in the trades and/or business administration and/or IT Industries (highly desirable).
  • Demonstrated experience in effective Account Management.
  • Minimum of intermediate level of digital literacy across multiple Microsoft Suite applications.
  • Relevant experience with mentoring youth would be advantageous.
  • Current driver license.
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills to establish positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in the effective use of process management technology and CRM systems including high level of digital literacy with multiple Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to effectively market and promote MEGT to industry stakeholders including attending events.
