The Opportunity
MEGT is looking for a commercially minded Senior Commercial Analyst to join our Finance team and support strategic decision-making across the business. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, this role will play a key part in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, business partnering, and continuous improvement initiatives. You’ll collaborate with senior stakeholders across the organisation to provide meaningful insights that drive performance and support growth initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and cash flow analysis using COGNOS analytics.
- Develop monthly management accounts and board reporting packs.
- Analyse monthly results and provide commentary on variances and trends.
- Partner with stakeholders to identify cost optimisation opportunities and support business performance.
- Assist with financial modelling, scenario analysis, and new business assessments.
- Support due diligence and integration activities relating to mergers and acquisitions.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and reporting automation.
- Develop and enhance reporting within business intelligence tools to meet evolving business needs.
About You
You are a proactive and analytical finance professional who thrives in a collaborative environment. You enjoy turning complex data into meaningful insights and are confident partnering with stakeholders across the business.
- Demonstrated experience in commercial finance, management reporting, or financial analysis roles.
- Strong financial modelling, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Advanced Excel skills and exposure to business intelligence or analytics tools such as COGNOS.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet reporting deadlines.
- Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify efficiencies and process enhancements.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline.
