The Opportunity

 

MEGT is seeking a passionate and qualified Employment Specialist (NDIS) to help shape our initial design and delivery of NDIS Employment Supports. As a key player, you'll engage with NDIS participants to support with building individual capacity for employment by providing employment related assessment counselling and advice with the aim of finding suitable employment opportunities.

Duties and responsibilities include: 

  • Be at the forefront of delivering employment services to NDIS participants.
  • Engage with participants by assessing their needs, and designing individualised plans to build their capacity for sustainable employment, training, or other vocational opportunities
  • Deliver suitable interventions, including vocational and career counselling based on assessment outcomes, such as one to one or group activities, online or digital literacy interventions, work experience or exposure to industry, or referrals to specialist providers
  • As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in sourcing employment opportunities through proactive networking, industry research, and cultivating strategic partnerships. Establish & maintain strong relationships with NDIS participants and their support workers, specialist service providers, schools, community organisations as well as various other stakeholders to deliver an exceptional service.  

 

About You

 

You will bring your experience in case management and counselling practice combined with your demonstrated ability to engage, respect and support those of diverse demographics and social backgrounds.

You will also have:

  • Relevant qualifications and registration including experience in areas such as Counsellor, Social worker, Rehabilitation Counsellor and Psychologist or other relevant professions (In line with NDIS Therapy Qualifications)
  • Previous experience fostering positive relationships with various external stakeholders including, employers, participants, community organisations, specialist services and parents/guardians 
  • Experience in delivering exceptional customer service, demonstrating a  professional approach with a passion for increasing customer satisfaction, outcomes, and driving continuous improvement and learning.
  • Excellent communication and administration skills including strong problem solving skills and ability to interpret and assess information 
  • Ability to travel frequently as this role will be required to deliver services across Brisbane
