The Opportunity: Mentoring & Account Management + Defence School Pathways Program Coordination

MEGT is looking for a dynamic, motivated professional to join our Adelaide team in a unique, dual-focused role that blends mentoring, account management, project coordination and presentation facilitation.

Your Key Responsibilities:

1. Mentoring & Account Management:

  • Empower Futures: Mentor, support, and guide MEGT apprentices and trainees throughout their career journeys.
  • Client Engagement: Build strong relationships with host employers, ensuring exceptional service delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Wellbeing Focus: Prioritize the physical and psychological safety of apprentices and trainees, fostering environments where they thrive.

2. Defence School Pathways Program Coordination:

  • Inspire the Next Generation: Deliver the prestigious Defence School Pathways Program, promoting exciting careers within the Defence industry.
  • STEM Advocacy: Encourage student participation in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) subjects relevant to Defence roles.
  • Collaborative Impact: Work closely with schools, industry partners, and the MEGT marketing team to broaden program reach and effectiveness.

You will also be responsible for but not limited to:

Mentoring and Account Management

  • Conduct mentoring site visits to support Apprentices/Trainees, addressing personal and workplace challenges to ensure job retention and qualification completion.
  • Provide solutions to remove barriers and facilitate successful training and employment outcomes.
  • Coordinate with Registered Training Organisations and host employers to oversee on-the-job and off-the-job training.
  • Ensure administrative support and workplace safety for Apprentices/Trainees, including WHS inspections and injury management.
  • Maintain strong client relationships, resolve issues, and drive business growth.
  • Identify and generate new business opportunities to meet growth targets.
  • Collaborate with businesses to develop workforce succession plans.

Defence School Pathways Program

  • Liaison with the South Australian Department for Education and Schools across South Australia to coordinate and schedule presentation to students.
  • Delivery of agree presentation material to South Australian School Students.
  • Collaboration with the MEGT Marketing and Service Delivery teams to continually improve content and project delivery.

About you 

You will be a confident, proactive, empathetic, and accountable self-starter with the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Strong mentoring or coaching background with a passion for youth development.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to establish positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders..
  • Highly effective presentation skills which allow you delivery, informative and entertaining presentations.
  • Experience in project coordination or account management is a plus.
  • A genuine interest in the Defence industry and promoting STEM education.
  • Familiarity with the VET sector
  • Experience in the trades and/or business administration and/or IT Industries
  • Minimum of intermediate level of digital literacy across multiple Microsoft Suite applications.
  • Current driver license.
  • Demonstrated success in the effective use of process management technology and CRM systems including high level of digital literacy with multiple Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to effectively market and promote MEGT to industry stakeholders including attending events.
